Krikzz has just released a new firmware for the Mega Everdrive Pro ROM Cart: http://krikzz.com/pub/support/mega-everdrive/pro-series/OS/
The biggest change in this firmware is how save files are stored on the MicroSD card; Normally saves would move from the cart’s RAM to SD every time a new game is loaded. This was totally fine during normal use, but if you were loading and backing up safe files, it could get a bit annoying, as you’d have to save your game, reset, load a new game and then get the save file from the MicroSD.
With this firmware revision, the save file moves from RAM to the SD card every time the cartridge boots to the menu, meaning a simple reset will copy the file over. In my opinion, this is a small, but awesome feature that I hope Krikzz integrates in every one of his carts where possible! It’s great for people backing up saves and it’s a good precaution in case the battery on the cartridge ever dies.
The full list of changes since the previous update are as follows:
- Saves management changes.
- Fixed volume register overflow in PCM low pass filter
- Fixed Snatcher crash after “corpse reconstruct” cut scene
- Fixed audio track cutting for bin+wav cd images
- Mapper for Sonic Delta
- Fix for games which using “reset” instruction
