The team behind the RGB-Pi, one of my two favorite Raspberry Pi RGB “hats” (see below) has just teased an upcoming JAMMA adapter!
What made the original RGB-Pi stand out to me was it’s simple hardware design, matched with excellent software that boots each game in it’s original resolution and refresh rates. As long as your RGB monitor was compatible, , this provided an experience as close to the original arcade board as one could expect from a Raspberry Pi.
I really hope the RGB-Pi team is able to bring as seamless an experience to arcade machines, as their SCART solution was. JAMMA setups often require custom button mappings, as well as a number of video challenges, so I’m interested to test and see how it performs!
More information will soon be available on their main site: http://www.rgb-pi.com/
