S-Video support on PAL N64’s has always been confusing, as I don’t believe it was ever officially supported by Nintendo. Reports over the years have varied as to which consoles or motherboard revisions have compatibility issues, but this is what Consoles4You suggests:
Confirmed, working consoles:
- NUS-CPU-P-01 (Charcoal)
- NUS-CPU-P-02 (Funtastic and Charcoal)
Other Revisions:
- NUS-CPU-P-03 (Pikachu and Funtastic) = Compatible with a cheap & easy S-Video mod: https://www.retrorgb.com/pal-n64-s-video-restore-flex-cable.html
- NUS-CPU-R-01 (FRA) = Not compatible with S-Video at all
