FirebrandX has just shown off pictures of his “Sega M1 Double Mega” adapter board that allows you to ‘change the sound’ (oversimplified description) of your Genesis console from the sounds of a YM2612 chip to a YM3438.
It works! The "Sega M1 Double Mega" board allows for a non-destructive toggle setup for the YM2612 and the YM3438 to run at the same time. Flicking the switch takes about 1 second for the code stream to switch chips. It even clears the caps and the metal flange that goes on top pic.twitter.com/WvNAXvs1IQ
