CD-i Core

There is a CD-i core that is in development by Github user Slamy. It is still early so the core is only experimental. The github says says that the planned first milestone is having the boot rom usable on the MiSTerFPGA.

You can check the status of all the components on GitHub

TapTo

wizzo is now selling a TapTo bundle with an updated TapTo NFC reader and trading cards on his Etsy shop.

There are also some pixel art figurines by Stand Up Gaming that are going on sale soon.

Pandora’s Palace

Pierco gave a quick update on the progress for his upcoming Pandora’s Palace core. He’s making some modifications with better chip implementations, specifically the Konmai 504 chip. The core is still only in the simulation stage.

Amiga CD32

Amiga CD32 games are now more easily playable on the MiSTer FPGA thanks to the AmigaVision project. The latest version of AmigaVision now supports booting CD32 disc images directly from the launcher.

The Amiga CD32 is basically a consolized Amiga 1200 computer but it did have some enhanced versions of Amiga titles that added CD audio music and full motion video.

Portable MiSTerFPGA

Ken from the What’s Ken Making YouTube channel created a portable MiSTerFPGA using the QMTech board w/ built-in SDRAM. The design even integrates TapTo support. There are still a few things to do, and once all that’s done, a video build guide will be posted and the design files will be open sourced.

Jotego Cores Surpass 1000 milestone

Jotego cores have now surpassed the 1000 MRA milestone. Currently there are 1009 MRA files for arcade games by Jotego’s team. This does include alternate versions of single games, but that’s still alot of games that are playable on the MiSTer.

JAMMA Expander by Irken Labs

Irken Labs has their JAMMA Expander back in stock. This device will give a MiSTer FPGA JAMMA capabilities allowing it to be integrated into an arcade cabinet that supports the JAMMA standard.

The board supports the following
-24 bit color
-Option for two SDRAM modules
-CRT protection with SyncGuard
-“User Lock”, flip a physical switch and users will not be able to modify your setup
-Both MAME keyboard and gamepad modes for maximum flexibility
-4 Port USB Hub
-and more

UPDATE – Salamander

Core developer Raki has shown off some simlulation screenshots for Konami’s Salamander arcade game. Raki says the game looks pretty good but there is a slight problem with the gamma and is unsure how it will look on the MiSTerFPGA.

Taki Udon MiSTer Products

Taki Udon post about finding a 4:3 AMOLED screen that will be used on the flagship consolized MISTerFPGA.

He is also showed 3D files of a case for his MiSTer triple stack. It looks like he’s going to leave the case options up to other vendors. In an older post, he showed off his MiSTer setup on a case from RetroCastle. Only one side panel had to be modified, so vendors do not need to completely redesign their case options.

Super Attract Mode Commercials

Super Attract Mode is a script that acts as a screensaver that randomly launches games while your MiSTer is idle. The script can now randomly play retro video game commercials. These commercials are obtained from Archive.org and YoutTube.

If you’re interested in trying this out, you can install Super Attract Mode from the Update All settings.

Neo Geo Pocket Color

Jotego finally fixed a bug that locked up the Neo Geo Pocket Color core at the second logo screen. He says, games seem functional now and but the graphics are messed. He believes that this new issue should not be as hard to handle as the previous lock up issue.

Twin Cobra

The CoinOp Collection team has released a beta for the Toaplan shooter, Twin Cobra. To access this beta you will need to be a Patreon subscriber, but the core should be freely available to everyone once it’s out of beta.
