A discussion in the shmups forum brought up a great question: Since RGsB (sync-on-green) will be supported in the next version of the gscartsw-lite, how about component video (YPbPr) via a passthrough dongle? According to superg, it should be possible! For most users, this might not be a big deal, but for anyone who wants to put just one component video device into an existing SCART setup, this is by far the easiest solution. Good luck finding those passthrough adapters anymore though…
