Segatom over on the SMS Power forums has just released the gerber files for a “homebrew” 3D glasses adapter for the Sega Master System. This is a PCB with a BOM (Bill Of Materials) that should allow you to make your own, should you need it. More info after the link:

Original SMS 3D adapters are still pretty cheap, but I’ve had a few die on me over the years and I’d have loved something like this as a replacement: Have the PCB made, populate the parts, then move the original shell from the old one to this one. And while sure, you can just try to repair the original, you’ll most likely have to start swapping parts out one by one to find the issue. And at that point, maybe it’s just easier to get one of these? That’s totally up to you.
I’m also curious if this adapter can be expanded to add more features. One thing I always thought might be fun is adding support for modern wireless 3D glasses, so you won’t have to pay the high amounts that original SMS 3D Glasses are going for…plus, it might look a bit better overall. And while the SMS 3D game library isn’t exactly the world’s most coveted, I’d still argue there’s a few games that are worth everyone’s time to experience. So who knows, maybe the SMS community will take this one a bit further…or maybe the FPGA community can do the same and have wireless 3D glasses support on MiSTer for these games?
