Lazy Game Reviews (LGR) recently posted a helpful video about recording and capturing real time footage from CRT monitors. Clint goes into the details on how he sets up his camera, added hardware or accessories used while shooting. As well as the post production and editing done to have the final images you see on YouTube look as if the viewer was right there looking at the CRT monitor in person. LGR’s tutorial video showed the many nuances that filmers will run into when trying to record off of CRT’s. Especially with monitors used with computers, as they can run at different refresh rates based on the program or game that is running.
I particularly found this video helpful as I too am trying to record from CRT monitors. If you are looking to do the same. Check this one out.
