John Linneman from Digital Foundry recently released an epic masterpiece that’s part documentary of the Road Rash series and part deep-dive technical analysis. This nearly two hour video covered every version and every port of the game…including my favorite unexpected comparison at about the 25-minute mark.
I think this is a must-watch for fans of the games, people curious about the history and also people curious about some of the lesser-known versions; I’d never seen the PC port in action, never heard of Road Rash: Jailbreak and had completely forgotten about Road Rash 3D.
And while not a Road Rash game, John also highlighted a newer alternative called Road Redemption, which was clearly inspired by the series and is available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. This definitely looks like a game I’d be interested in. Now just to decide if I prefer the convenience of playing on my Switch, or would I want to take advantage of the 120fps mode the PC version has to offer…
