Dan, aka Citrus 3000psi has just posted a teaser of an upcoming product that allows to you add a digital-out port to GameCube “101” models that shipped without them. This mod replaces the analog output connector and as long as you don’t need analog audio (or composite video), this can even be a #nocutmod!
If you’d like, you can add a 3.5mm jack that requires cutting, but will supply stereo audio and composite video. Users of GC component cables (Official or Carby) will need to add that jack, as it’s the only way to get stereo. Alternatively, if you’re using something like the Carby HDMI device that already supplies audio, you won’t need the extra port or any cutting at all.
There’s no word on price or availability yet, but if Dan does decide to sell them, they’ll be listed on his store here: https://shop.dansprojects.com/
