Retro-Bit have just resumed pre-orders on their Sega Genesis / Mega Drive “Toaplan Shooters 2” collection from now until June 1st, however the game Twin Cobra is no longer being included due to licensing issues; The only games included are now Slap Fight and Grind Stormer. If you pre-ordered just Twin Cobra, you can get a refund at your place of purchase and if you pre-ordered the full set, you’ll get a partial refund. Luckily Twin Cobra is a game you can still pick up pretty cheap, even complete in box, so check the (paid, affiliate) links below for an original copy:

While I’m sure some people are disappointed by this, I don’t think Retro-Bit could have handled it any better – They immediately notified their customers as soon as they ran into licensing issues and paused all pre-orders until it was sorted out. And sure, it sucks that the whole collection should have already arrived to customers by now, but at least the only game that needed to be removed is the one that’s still inexpensive!
Speaking of which, the entire collectors edition is cheaper than just an original copy of Grind Stormer or Slap Fight, so this is still cost-effective for people who want to use officially licensed physical media, as opposed to ROM Carts or bootlegs. Also, Retro-Bit has a history of making quality Genesis carts, that are properly beveled and built properly, so whil eyou should always double check, this seems to be a good option for fans of those games.
