RYM2612 Iconic FM Synthesizer “Synth of Rage”

A company named Inphonic is releasing a virtual synth named the RYM2612 Iconic FM Synthesizer.  This was also reported on musicradar.com by Simon Arblaster, links below.  The RYM2612 is a VST plugin (Virtual Studio Technology) or virtual collection of instruments that is used as an addon for digital audio programs.  The RYM2612 faithfully emulates the Yamaha 2612 sound chip found in the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and is cycle accurate.   Musicians can take this VST software package and use it to create/compose any music they desire in the style of the Genesis/Mega Drive with great accuracy.  The software package also includes a free download called the RYMCast.  Which is a audio player addon that will let you play native VGM Sega Music files as well as having the options to export to WAV, AIFF, and FLAC formats.  Pretty neat features overall and it is nice to see these unique audio options coming out with both the emulated RYM2612 and real chip solutions with the Mega MIDI.  Music composers/lovers of the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive should definitely check this out.
