Voultar has just open-sourced his adapter board that allows “Capcom Classic” arcade games to be used with JAMMA arcade cabinets or superguns. There’s only about 15 original games that use this pinout, but adapters like this can be extremely helpful when using these arcade boards. A list of supported games can be found here: https://www.arcade-museum.com/pinouts-class/Capcom_Classic.html
Voultar will continue to sell these boards for anyone who wants them, but feel free to do what you’d like with the design:
Purchase one pre-made directly from Voutlar: https://voultar.com/index.php?route=product/product&search=capcom&product_id=75
OSH Park Link (zip download is available on that page): https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/KrFAoVRl
As a note, the adapter is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License, which basically means that anyone can use, sell or modify the design, as long as credit is given and you indicate if any changes were made to the design. While most people in the retro gaming world have embraced open-source licenses, others seemingly have no respect for the designs donated to the public for free, or for the rules that were put in place to keep things fair. Let’s all chose to support people / companies that do it right.
ATTENTION!
My friends, it's time to give something to the community!
My Capcom Classics to JAMMA interface is now freely available to anyone. I will still be selling these, but if you want to make your own, please do so! Enjoy it!
