MSX Computers Explained

Displaced Gamers has just uploaded a new video the highlights the different versions of the MSX computers and their internal components.  The videos goes into detail about how the MSX handles scrolling and clarifies some myths about the platform’s overall performance.

While I’m not a programmer, I always appreciate the methods developers used to squeeze the most performance they could out of the tools at hand.  The tricks MSX dev’s used to perform smooth scrolling and multiple colors per sprite are some of the favorite examples in the video…and of course I’m always a giant fan of everything the homebrew scene has to offer.

I strongly recommend this video to anyone who’s both curious about the MSX and enjoys hardware-centered videos.  Also, please consider supporting the Displaced Gamers Patreon account, as the channel does some amazing work:  https://www.patreon.com/displacedgamers
