Beta 2 for the Salamander core has been released by developer Raki. This version fixes a bug in the video timing generator that was causing shaking video.

 

MiSTer Game Challenge

The next game in the MiSTerFPGA Discord game challenge is Bull Fight by Sega. A 1984 arcade game.

It’s a single credit score challenge on default settings and goes until September 22nd.

 

Super Cassette Vision

ReverendGumby on Discord is developing a core for Epoch’s Super Cassette Vision. It’s an early console that was in 1984 in Europe and Japan.

You can download the in-development core from the developers GitLab page or from the Super Cassette Vision thread on the MiSTer FPGA discord.

 

RetroRemake MiSTer Products

Those who were able to purchase RetroRemake’s MiSTer Pi in batch 1 will soon be able to purchase a frosted case for the price of shipping. There aren’t any plans to officially sell these kits along with the MiSTer Pi. Taki does say he wants current MiSTer vendors to offer case options for these devices.

 

$200 Full MiSTer Setup by Ultimate MiSTer

Ultimate MiSTer showed an image if their upcoming complete MiSTer FPGA kit. Powered by the QMTech Board, it has everything you need for a MiSTer FPGA experience. The price for the kit is 200 euros which is cheaper than kits using the official DE10 Nano.

 

Super TapTo Boy

Super TapTo Boy is a custom case project created by Phoenix on the TapTo Discord, that utilizes a SNES shell with an SBC inside(Can be a MiSTer or Raspberry Pi). Then a Super Game Boy shell is attached for reading games via NFC allowing you in incorporate phyisical Game Boy carts into your MiSTer setup.

Twinbee

Raki has hinted on the development of a Twinbee core asking on Twitter if they can have a Twinbee alpha core by the end of next month.

Since Raki is also developing a Salamander core that runs on similar hardware to Twinbee, it seems reasonable that they may have an alpha core available next month.
