Dustin from MakeMHz has posted a few blog updates informing customers there will be a delay in shipping the HDMI kits compatible with v1.6 Xbox motherboards, due to graphical issues. This delay is only for version 1.6 Xbox motherboards – The kit designed for all previous versions has already started shipping to customers (see below).
According to Dustin, there isn’t a clear date for when, or if the 1.6 kits will be fixed:
“Currently, we do not have an expedited date to when the issues will be resolved, but it looks to be at least four weeks out before we can start the investigation process.“
Customers who purchased the v1.6 kit will have the following choices and should contact support@makemhz.com for details:
- Hold order until the issue is resolved. (Existing shipping label will be canceled)
- Replace 1.6 items with 1.0-1.5 items
- Refund 1.6 items
Without a clear indication of what the problem is, there’s no way to tell how long it could take to fix. While PayPal’s protection allows up to 180 days if there’s an issue, companies can still refund for an indefinitely period of time, so it’s totally up to you if you’re willing to wait. I recognize that there’s been a few projects in the past where people got burned, but there’s been many more where after a long stretch of delays, everything worked out just fine.

Also, for anyone who was previously concerned, it looks like kits for non-1.6 versions have been arriving to customers and are working as advertised. For more information, check out the full review below.
