The Atari 7800, one of the most under-appreciated and often neglected consoles of all time, is finally getting the SD multi-cart treatment. Saint from RetroHQ, creator of the excellent Jaguar GD, Neo Geo Pocket GD and Lynx GD, just tweeted a preliminary design of the upcoming cart and cited a few details along the way:
First pass Atari 7800 SD layout. Small embedded boot ROM, 512KB SRAM, 512KB serial FLASH for menu / firmware and microSD for storage. pic.twitter.com/1NcxOsP62I

Release date and price point remain unknown for the moment.
Taking into consideration Saint‘s previous meticulous work, this should be a perfect and comprehensive product for 7800 owners. On a side note, I hope we get an RGB solution for the “Pro System” soon enough too, there are a lot of great arcade conversions to be enjoyed on there.
