Krikzz just released the latest revision of his ED-64 line of multi-carts: the EverDrive-64 X7.
At first glance, this seems to replace the previous high-end iteration of the ED-64 simply known as V3 as both carts share the exact same features except for the Ultra-CIC chip where the newer model has a Ultra-CIC III on board. The Ultra-CIC II though, which was introduced almost 4 years ago with the V3, already provided excellent compatibility across all regions.
The ED-64 X7 also got its own firmware release/update v3.00 which, apparently, can’t be applied to v3x/2x. Right at the bottom of the product’s page, there are 2 different links, separating the new cart from the old ones, in terms of “OS Update”.
The new top-tier X7 multi-cart retains the same price as its predecessor at ~170$. It’s just a matter of time before we find out what kind of improvement(s)/advantage(s), if any, the ED-64 X7 has over the now discontinued V3.
