Rattboi, from the SmokeMonster Patreon Discord, released a preview of his Genesis-to-PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16 controller converter on Github. When complete there will be two versions: a standalone converter PCB; and a replacement internal PCB for 3-button Genesis controllers. For the replacement PCB, you would solder on a Mini-DIN8 cable to make a standalone Genesis controller for PCE/TG16.
This opens up lots of cheap controller options, which is important because real PCE/TG16 controllers have become expensive, and their tiny, mushy dpad leaves much to be desired.
