Juno First (Mame vs MiSTer)

JimmyStones posted a video testing his Juno First core and comparing it to the MAME driver. The goal is to see how well the two stay in sync. His result determine that it’s pretty much spot on.

 

Taito System SJ

Anton Gale showed of the opening title scene sequence for Elevator Action running on the MiSTer FPGA. It looks to be running without glitches.

 

MiSTex

Hans Baier has made progress on MiSTex, getting DDR3 memory working. This is important because MiSTer uses a lot of DDR3 memory so it should help with porting cores.

 

N64

The Nintendo 64 FPGA core is now showing signs of life. It was shown to boot up and run a “Hello World” program.

Gold Medalist

Atrac17 is in search of a functional Gold Medalist PCB to purchase, which will help complete the Alpha68k core.
The game is reminiscent of Konami’s Track & Field.

MDFourier

MDFourier, an open source software solution, was used to test the audio signatures of the IREM m92 hardware. The results are available on Github and a public patreon post.

 

Rockwell AIM65 Computer

Shinymetal6 is planning to release a core for the Rockwell AIM-65 computer, which was introduced in 1978 and is based on the MOS Technology 6502 microprocessor.

 

Retrocastle MiSTer Setups

Retrocastle has released a new MiSTer setup that has built-in support for MikeSimone’s YC design. This means that you get support for S-video and composite without the need for an adapter.
You do need a Saturn video out cable in order to use analog video out.

 

Batsugan

atrac17 announced that the Toaplan shooter Batsugun is being looked at for implementation in the future. All official versions will be supported.

Rally Bike

Darren__O has been trying to finish up Rally Bike. An arcade game that runs on the Toaplan V1 hardware. There’s a few issues left with the sprites and audio mixing but the core is coming along.

Neo Geo Pocket

The Neo Geo Pocket core is still under development. There are still some issues that need to be resolve, but a beta core is planned for release next Friday. Subscribe to Jotego’s Patreon for more details and access to the beta.

Parodius Da

Jotego has announced that schematics extraction for the Parodius Da! arcade PCB have been finished. This is a very important step in getting a core developed for MiSTer.

Toaplan V1 Games

Darren__O has released two new beta cores for some Toaplan V1 arcade shooters.
The games are:
Vimana
Same! Same! Same!
Enable the CoinOp collection database in UpdateAll to download these cores.

 

Nintendo 64

The first version of the Nintendo 64 core has been released, but no games are playable yet.
The only thing the core can do now is run some homebrew test software.
You can try out this early core yourself by following the instructions Robert provided on Patreon.

Kick And Run

There is now a working MiSTer core for Kick And Run. What’s left to do now is for Pierco to fix the DMA and also fix audio
