MiSTer FPGA News – Future MiSTer Hardware? Surprise Attack, CD+G & more

Jotego Updates

Jotego reminded us work for the cores based on Run’n Gun and CPS3 hardware continues but there are a few stepping stones like:

-Adding Golfing Greats to the JTRIDERS, as it uses the same pseudo 3D chip as Run’n Gun but without a frame buffer
-Frame buffer is a requisite for CPS3

Additionally there have been audio fixes to the following games:
-Audio was breaking up on Ajax
-Stereo audio implemented on Ajax
-Tora michi PCM sound was too low
-Circus Charlie applause was distorted

MiSTer Organize

The MiSTer Organize project now supports detecting the full set of Playstation USA, Europ and Japanese games. Even exclusives from other regions can be detected.

The MiSTer_Console_Private dat has updates to:
MegaDrive – Enhanced Colors
SNES – Enhanced Colors
SNES – Speed Hacks
Rumbleminze SNES MSU-1 Updates & more

There are also alot of updates to the Exclusive Content which you can read up on in the public Patreon post.

MiSTer Organize is a project that will help you keep your games organized for browsing games on your MiSTer. It contains custom DAT files that instruct it on how to organize games. You can get more information on the project on its official Discord channel.

MultiSystem 2 3D Print Files

The MultiSystem team have published all the 3D model files for the Multisystem2 on printables. These files are licensed under the open CC-BY-SA license so you can modify, make, sell, change and re-publish and almost anything else you can think of. Attribution is the only stipulation.

Cheap display device database

On the Mr. FPGA forums, user madmalkav posted about a database they’re maintaining that is about testing cheap display devices from AliExpress. The goal is to make them perform as good as possible for MiSTer and provide configuration settings for each display. All the findings are being posted on GitHub.

SuperStation One

The Super Station One has added a bypass switch that will let you choose between the built-in PSX game controller ports and a standard SNAC port. However, the dock is necessary for this because that is were the SNAC port lives. So without the dock you will only be able to use the Playstation port in SNAC mode.

You can still use USB controllers instead of the PSX ports if you don’t have a dock.

There was also an expansion port added to the dock that is planned for future hardware use.

Retro Remake NFC Reader

BedroomNinja released the 3D print files for a case that fits with RetroRemakes NFC reader. So if you have a 3D printer you can go ahead and print out a case for yourself.
