The team behind the Amigavision collection just released a pack for the AO486 core. The goal is to ““consolize” the ao486/DOS experience on the MiSTer FPGA platform, and make gaming on the PC core as easy as any other console core that is supported.”

Games are packed into thier own virtual hard disk with the appropriate settings to get them to run. Making them act like console ROMs.

 

PSX Boot Screen

uberyoji recently released a new boot room for the PlayStation core. It’s themed after metal gear solid. You can download it now by enabling uberyoji’s boot roms in update all.

 

Jotego’s Audio Work

For the past few weeks, Jotego has been working on a framework that would allow cores to more accurately re-create audio filters from arcade hardware. That framework is now stable and Jotego is going to move back to core development with the audio work being handed off to another team member.

 

Sega Saturn

Great news for Sega Saturn fans. srg320’s Sega Saturn core has finally been officially released and can be downloaded through regular update channels. This doesn’t mean that the core is complete because there’s still a lot of work to be done. However, according to a Sega Saturn compatibility chart, 98.8% of the US library is now playable.

MiSTer Multisystem Pi MMS Cart

If you have a MiSTer Multisystem, and want to upgrade music playback on computer cores, then you would be happy to know that the Pi MMS cartridge is back in stock.

This is a cartridge that allows you to use the Raspberry Pi to enable enhanced midi playback on supported computer cores.

 

New IO Board

MiSTer Main and some cores have already been starting to get updated to the new framework that supports the new I/O board and Sorg also announced the official release the new IO board.

For those that don’t know, this new IO board will support 24bit analog video output, better audio and video DACs and it will also have the ability to convert from an analog IO board to a digital IO board through the insertion and removal of an AV board.
