Neo Geo Pocket

There are fixes for the Neo Geo Pocket Color core that improve compatibility. These fixes are going to be implemented for a future update. The post hints at the following games being affected.

Memories Off Pure
Densha De Go 2
And Ganbare Neo Poke-Kun

 

Amiga

The Amiga core has a new CPU mode that let’s you select a 68010 CPU. This CPU was a minor revision to the standard 68000 that included some fixes and new features.

Important to gamers is a loop mode that can give a nice speed boost to certain games but decrease compatibility with other games.

 

NES

The NES core was updated with the following changes by paulb-nl.

Mappers 205, 208 were added.
There are Fixes and improvements in mappers 210, MMC5, NesEvent.
FDS fixes.

 

PSA – A Proper Power Supply is Important for MiSTer Pi

On Reddit there is a thread that was talking about SD Card issues with Retro Remake’s MiSTer Pi. The issue’s turned out to be power related, so I wanted to let people know to make sure to use a proper power supply with the device. Since the MiSTer Pi does not come with a power supply, there are probably a lot of users plugging in whatever USB-C power adapter they have on hand.

On Retro Remake’s site, there is a guide to help you find the correct power supply. The Reddit thread also has people giving suggestions on what power supplies are giving them good results.

 

CD-i Core

The in development CD-i core can now boot some games.

This core is still in very early development and some games are playable to a certain degree, however sound is not working yet. If you want to try it out yourself, you do need an unstable build of the main MiSTer binary, in addition to the CD-i core. You can get the details on the MiSTer FPGA Discord.

 

MiSTer Pi Cases

This past Saturday, RetroFrog started selling cases for RetroRemake’s MiSTer Pi. They cost $30 and are available in 3 colors.

MiSTerFPGA_UK is also selling a case for the MiSTer Pi. Their version is a clear acryllic case that costs 23 pounds and is available in 6 colors.

And Ultimate MiSTer announced their upcoming case for the MiSTer Pi. It will cost 25 pounds and will be offered with optional extras and upgrades along with having 2 color options.

 

N64 Fix For DE10 Nano Clones

Due to some hardware differences, the N64 core needed to be modified to work reliably on DE10 Nano clones. The time that data needs to be read from SDRAM, looks to be different between the clones and DE10 Nano. Robert modified the core to read data at a point in time that’s compatible with all devices.
